Play is the window into your child’s world
Play therapy is a supportive way to help those children who have a hard time trusting or connecting with others. Often children don’t communicate their feelings and thoughts through words. Instead, children use toys, objects, and stories to attempt to understand the world around them, as well as to communicate their needs, wants, and fears. I am trained and skilled in speaking this very special language.
In child-parent play therapy, you discover your child’s needs through play. You gain valuable tools in listening to your child’s feelings and needs more authentically, which supports your ability to guide and discipline your child. This gentle approach helps your child in listening to your requests more readily, because you’ve provided a consistent, nurturing, and predictable response to your child’s thoughts, feelings, and needs. Together, children and parents feel more creative, spontaneous, and joyful together.
