Frequently asked Questions

+ How do I make an appointment with one of your therapists?

You can visit our contact page to reach out to us by email to schedule your 20-minute consultation. Or, you can schedule directly on our client portal.

+ How long do I need to wait for an appointment?

Parents typically call for help when they are in distress and want support as soon as possible. Appointments are able to be scheduled within 2 weeks following an initial consultation.

+ Will my insurance pay for psychotherapy?

Child Parent Connection is considered an Out of Network provider, and we are not contracted with any insurance. Please contact your health insurance plan directly to see what mental health services they cover. For your convenience, superbills can also be provided monthly if you choose to submit claims on your own.

+ What does a typical session with my small child look like?

Therapy is tailored to suit your individual needs. Your therapist will explain to you what your therapeutic process will look like after learning about your family's unique circumstances.

+ How long is therapy?

The length of therapy varies greatly from family to family. After the assessment phase is completed, you will be provided with an estimate of how long treatment might take. Because your participation in therapy is completely voluntary, you get to decide both when you start and when you finish.

Therapy is typically complete when you feel like your goals have been met. Once this has happened, many families request to move from weekly to bi-weekly sessions. This supports the family in terminating treatment while still having access to therapeutic support.

+ Do you offer reduced fees?

We recognize that professional psychotherapy is an expensive commitment for many families. For this reason, the fee will be determined during the initial complimentary consultation. Our provider's fees vary based on their level of experience and years toward their specializations, and we encourage you to choose the therapist whose fee feels appropriate for your family situation.

Reduced fees are available by request for weekly sessions only. All reduced fees will be reassessed every 6 months, as family situations shift and change regularly. If an acceptable fee cannot be arranged, you will be provided with resources and referrals to better support you.

Reduced fees are not available for bi-weekly or monthly sessions.
