Depression and anxiety during and after pregnancy are the #1 complication of childbirth affecting 1 in 5 women. Our highly trained staff of certified perinatal mental health specialists offer support for every perinatal mood and anxiety disorder, as well as issues related to birth trauma, infant loss, and infertility. We help you learn to manage your symptoms in a culturally-affirming manner. We also assess and support the healthy attachment and bonding between you and your baby, and provide referrals for medication evaluation & treatment when appropriate. Together, we create a support plan for you and baby to thrive in your postpartum experience.

Many women will experience the baby blues, which is considered a normal part of postpartum adjustment. Generally, the blues will resolve within the first few weeks post-delivery. If symptoms persist, it is time to seek professional support. It is common to experience a mood shift during pregnancy & postpartum. Additionally, the changing hormones, relationships, roles, lack of support, feelings of isolation, and the general mental load of motherhood can significantly impact our mental health postpartum. Remember: you are not alone. With help, you will get better.
